About Slot & Shaft
Slot & Shaft helps you design DIY furniture from aluminum extrusion. You set the size of a desk, table or frame; we show it in 3D and give you a parts list that matches the model, with every line linked to a US seller.
Why we built it
T-slot parts look interchangeable, but they often aren’t: a nut made for an 8 mm slot won’t seat in a 10 mm one, and two “4040” profiles from different makers can differ. We built Slot & Shaft so the parts you order fit together. Every design runs through our fit rules, which check that each profile, bracket, nut and bolt belongs to the same slot system and that every cut length is within what the seller can cut.
Where our data comes from
Part dimensions come from MISUMI’s public catalog drawings and specifications, for example the HFS6-3030 profile. Each page names the reference part and links its source.
These are catalog figures, not our own measurements. We haven’t measured the parts ourselves yet, and we say so wherever it matters. A design or part is labeled as physically verified only when we have built or measured that specific thing. Another maker’s part may not match MISUMI’s dimensions, so check the slot width before you buy.
